Category Manager - games

With more than 50 million people using this gaming device, this business is the place where that mission comes to life. In this category business, our customers business goal is to accelerate gaming reach and engagement across devices.

As a member of the Consumer and Device Sales (CDS) organization, you will work with ecosystem partners to build, market and sell a winning portfolio that delights customers and earns fans around the world. 

We are entering a hugely exciting year for the gaming business – with transformational changes happening in the industry and our customers own products/services and monumental launches coming up. In this role you will play a key role in driving this gaming success in the Nordic markets. We are looking for a candidate with 2-4 years’ experience in the consumer electronics industry, gaming industry, retail category management, or like business.

As the Category manager in the Nordic organization you will be working on growing the gaming business in the Nordic region by supporting the Nordic Sales Team as well as the EMEA HQ Category teams with planning & execution of key sales & marketing programs focused on driving purchase intent, conversion & post purchase advocacy & consumer lifetime value for our customers games, digital content and services.
Among your key tasks and responsibilities are:
  • Member of Nordic category team.
  • Surrounding teams: The Nordic CDS, Sales and Marketing organization, also working with the EMEA team.
  • Leading the Category business across Sweden, Norway, Finland and Denmark
  • Drive and execute the integrated marketing strategy for Games and the digital business
  • Define and influence the various elements of the marketing mix and key retail programs within the area that will direct, and influence ROI
  • Land retail category strategies at retail to maximize revenue and socket opportunity
  • Provide in depth business analysis on the Nordic gaming Retail business performance for revenue, attach and margin
  • Work with Nordic Retail Services to land the retail channel component of a comprehensive channel marketing strategy that encompasses the People, Place, Demo and Online elements
  • Drive retail strategy and direction for programs, promotions and initiatives and ensure they are tailored and customized for Nordic
  • Drive the overall numbers and business goals for games lineup (1st party games lineup, physical and digital) and subscriptions including revenue, forecasting, contribution margin and marketing spend
  • Drive development around retailer pitch decks and presentations for tradeshows, events and account tours
  • Support the team in setting strategy and direction around account presentations and meetings
  • Manage partnerships with 3rd Party publishers and brands
  • Coordinate our Event presence across Nordic together with our agency and the global content teams

Candidate requirements:
  • Sharp analytical skills and acumen to review and manage budgets, market data, and revenue opportunities.
  • Strong ability to summarize complex business situations and to remove complexities
  • Experience in planning and executing marketing strategies and sales activities that drive business results.
  • An entrepreneurial spirit, passionate about building businesses, and thrives within a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to directly deliver and deliver thru influence of others
  • Experience with devices sales in consumer channels a plus.
  • A character that exemplifies our customers values including integrity, honesty, openness, personal excellence, constructive self-criticism, and mutual respect.

The candidates we are looking for are fluent in English, only candidates with a Swedish work permit already in place will be taken into consideration.The position is going to be based at our clients’ Swedish office in the city center of Stockholm.
